Kesha Sebert is suing long-time producer Dr. Luke for sexual assault and battery, it has been revealed.
TMZ broke the news, after getting word of a lawsuit in which the singer claims Dr. Luke made repeated sexual advances and forced her to use drugs from the age of 18.
The lawsuit states “for the past ten years, Dr. Luke has sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused [her] to the point where [she] nearly lost her life”.
Details of the lawsuit can be found here, in which the singer claims she was given ‘sober pills’ by the producer, which were really a form of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, otherwise known as the date rape drug, after which she woke up naked, sore and sick in his bed.
Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, produced the majority of the artist’s hits including Tik Tok and Die Young, and has also worked with a number of other stars such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus.
Earlier this year it was reported that Luke had been verbally abusive towards Kesha, calling her a ‘fat f****ing refrigerator’ and contributing towards the development of her eating disorder, for which she was admitted to rehab.
The singer is asking to be released from her contract, which would otherwise require her to continue making music with the producer.
