Lana Del Rey has addressed her Lady Gaga ‘diss track’ and her relationship with the star in a new interview with Rolling Stone.
So Legit, an unreleased song believed to have been recorded around 2008/9, leaked last year and featured the lyrics ‘Stefani, you suck’ and ‘have we all gone Gaga crazy?’which many took to be a dig at fellow pop star Lady Gaga.
Further insults in the song include ‘you’re looking like a man, you’re talking like a baby’ and ‘wish they could have seen you when we booed you off in Williamsburg’.
The lyrics left fans wondering if there was bad blood between the two artists, however according to Del Rey they never actually met, despite playing at the same venues.
The Born To Die singer said of Gaga in the interview:
“Her manager, Bob Leone, was a confidante of mine, and he gave me a two-month scholarship to a songwriting class and put me on a list of Monday night lineups at the Cutting Room. We played a couple of shows together, but never met.”
When asked about So Legit, the singer simply responded: “That was a misunderstanding”.
