Psychedelic soul singer Janelle Monáe has released a new slow-grind single titled Yoga, and it marks a significant change in sound from previous hits Q.U.E.E.N. and Tightrope.
With trap-laced production and immediately quotable lyrics, the song bares an audible resemblance to Beyonce’s 7/11, which was released late last year, but has enough of the Electric Lady’s own sound to make it unique.
The track features rapper Jidenna, and is Monáe’s first release from upcoming multi-artist EP ‘The Eephus’, a collaboration between record labels Wondaland and Epic Records.
The full EP ‘The Eephus’ is due for release May 6.
